Noted Boston attorney Jeffrey Denner said it’s “tough” on both sides when the defendant is a celebrity and that a change of venue, while highly unlikely, could help pick a more unbiased jury.

“Changes of venue in these cases make a lot of sense. If 90 percent of a jury pool knows something about it, it’s far worse than if 25 percent knows about it,” Denner said. “In western Massachusetts, they’re less likely to be following what’s going on with the Patriots or the case.”
